Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a beautiful trek to a plateau surrounded by tall and irresistible Annapurna Massifs in the Annapurna Region of Nepal. The plateau is an oval-shaped high glacial basin located at 4,000m known by Annapurna Sanctuary. Our journey to Annapurna Sanctuary or Annapurna Base Camp(4,100m) will start from Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, we’ll fly to Pokhara, a picturesque town in Nepal, to join the starting point of the trek. And then, we’ll trek through various scenic and traditional hamlets of the Annapurna Region to Poonhill, the best place you could be in to enjoy mountains and sunrise in Nepal. And from there, you’ll walk towards the mountains.  

En route to Annapurna’s foothills, we’ll undergo enriched vegetation, eye-striking topography, breathtaking mountains, welcoming people, unique culture, and many more. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Your journey with us will start on your arrival in Kathmandu. Our representatives from Sabbatical Explore Nepal will be at the airport for your welcome and hotel transfer. You’ll rest at the hotel until evening. Then you will be invited for a welcome dinner for interaction and trek’s orientation. We will get to know each other. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Trek Arrangement and Kathmandu Sightseeing

On the second day, the team will arrange everything for our trek ahead. Whereas, we’ll do sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley. The ancient city of Nepal is full of temples, gompas, and historical sites. We’ll make visits to the must-visit sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swaymbhunath Stupa(Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square. The visits will highlight the rich and historical architecture of Nepal. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Fly to Pokhara and Free time in Pokhara

Soon after breakfast, we’ll leave our hotel in Kathmandu for a flight to Pokhara. The flight will last for only 35 minutes where we’ll enjoy Nepal from the skies. Upon our arrival and transfer to a hotel in Pokhara, we’ll rest for a while. Then we’ll begin to explore the picturesque city. Phewa Lake by the city and Mt Machhapuchhre in the backdrop will surely bless our eyes. Moreover, we’ll have hangouts around the lakeside and go to major places in the city. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 4: Drive to Birethanti and Trek to Tikhedhunga(1,525m) |4-5hrs

Now we’ll leave Pokhara for Birethanti on a 2 hours motor drive. The trek will start from Birethanti as we enter a green vicinity. We will walk through terraced fields of Maize and millet to move ahead. Trekking ahead, we’ll have a stop in Sudami village for a while. Then we will do a short climb to reach Tikhedhunga. Overnight in Tikhedhunga.

Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani(2,855m)|5-6hrs

We’ll wake up in Tikhedhunga to a lovely view. Then we will take breakfast and leave the place behind. The trek will continue on a steep stone staircase of around 3,767 steps. Next, completing the stairs, we’ll walk on a forested trail of oak and rhododendron forests. Eventually, we’ll reach Nangethanti for lunch and rest. After the rest, we’ll get back on the trail and keep walking until we reach Ghorepani, a scenic village known for mountain panorama. Overnight in Ghorepani.  

Day 6: Ghorepani to Tadapani(2,680 m.)

Early wake up and walk up to Poon Hill for one hour to observe the sun-rise and a magni-
ficent mountain view and walk back to Ghorepani for breakfast and start trekking to

Day 7: Tadapani to Chhomrong (1,951 m.)

An easy way down to Kimrung Khola for lunch, ascend again to Chhomorong village which lies at the base of Hiunchuli at the elevation of 6,441m. which also offers a closeview of Annapurna and Macchhapucchhre.

Day 8: Chhomrong to Doban (2,430m.)

Leaving chumrung, the trail descends and crosses the Chumrung river bridge. Climbing high above the modikhola on it west bank, the trail passes through the tiny settlement Tilche in forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak. Climbing further on a rocky trailyou reach Sinuwa, at 2250m.

The trail continues in rhododendron forest, climbing Khuldi at 2350m. From Khudi, the trail descends a long, steep stone staircase into Modi river viewing thickets and deep bampoo and rhododendron forests. It is then a short distance to Bamboo Lodge 2190m. From here climb through stands of bamboo, then through rhododendron forest up the side of the canyon. After ascending continuously then reaching Doban 2430m, about two hours beyond Khuldi, there also a good Lodges. Passing by the pasture of Tomo and Panchen Barah climb up to Doban Lodge overnight.

Day 9: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp| 6-7hrs

From Dobhan, we’ll walk in the direction of Himalaya, a major stop of Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We’ll reach the place by hiking for around 2 hours through the lush forest and banks of Modi Khola. In Himalaya, we’ll stop to relax our bodies and drink tea. Then continuing the trek, we’ll walk by Hinku Cave to reach Deurali for Lunch. The lunch at Deurali will power us to reach the foothills of Machhapuchhre Base Camp. We’ll have a lovely evening in the base camp. Overnight at MBC.

Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp |3hrs

Now it is time for Annapurna Base Camp. We will leave Machhapuchhre Base Camp enjoying the mountains in the background. It will take around 3 hours to reach the base camp of the world’s tenth highest mountain. Once we reach Annapurna Sanctuary or ABC, we’ll be surrounded by nothing but ice-loaded peaks like Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Tent Peak, Gangapurna, and Fishtail.  We’ll stay in the Annapurna Base Camp’s tea house tonight. So we will have plenty of time to explore the base camp.

Day 11: Trek back to Bamboo| 4-5hrs

It is time to leave Annapurna Base Camp. We’ll eat breakfast across a striking sunrise view in the base camp. Then, we’ll retrace via a descending route all the way to Bamboo. The Modi River, lush greenery, and several waterfalls will come along while returning to the place. Overnight in Bamboo.

Day 12: Trek to Jhinnu Hot Springs| 5hrs

Now we descend to Jhinnu, a place known for its hot spring. We’ll trek via the lush forest of Rhododendron. Before reaching Jhinnu, we’ll have lunch in Chhomrong. And upon arriving in Jhinnu, we’ll relax our bodies by taking a dip into the hot spring. All the tiredness will vanish and we’ll have a lovely evening in Jhinu Danda.

Day 13: Trek to Dhampus| 5-6hrs

Following the Modi Khola River, we’ll trek ahead in the direction of Dhampus. Along the route, we’ll cross several traditional villages and their farm fields full of crops. And after the trek of 5 to 6 hours, we’ll reach Dhampus. Overnight in Dhampus.

Day 14: Trek to Phedi and Drive to Pokhara | 2hrs

From Dhampus, we’ll begin a short hike to Phedi. It will be a quick descending trek of 4km. And from Phedi, we’ll take a bus to Pokhara. After the drive, we’ll reach Pokhara’s hotel to rest until we are refreshed. In the evening, we’ll spend some more time in Pokhara’s happening place. Overnight in Pokhara. 

Day 15: Drive/Fly to Kathmandu

In the morning, we’ll fly to Kathmandu. Alternatively, we can join a bus to Kathmandu. Both ways, we’ll have a wonderful ride. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we’ll head to our hotel for some rest. And we’ll get some more time in Kathmandu for shopping and exploration. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 16: Departure

It is time to depart from Nepal. At the time of your departure, our team will give you a hotel transfer to the airport. Safe journey back home. Farewell!
