Just after you arrive at Kathmandu Airport, our representative from Sabbatical Explore Nepal will receive you with the coziest welcome. We will head straight to your hotel as you might be so exhausted. As you finish up the rest and are good to walk around, we will leave the hotel for an evening stroll of the city. The day will finish with a welcome dinner with the entire trekking team. Next, you will head to your hotel for the night.

Day 2: Explore City & Trek Preparation

The second day will have Kathmandu’s exploration for you. After you finish breakfast, we will drive towards the city’s cultural and historical sites. It will be a day to explore the ancient architecture and cultural sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Monkey(Swayambhunath) Temple, Basantapur Durbar Square, and more. By the time we finish our city’s tour, the team will have completed all the trek preparation, from trekking permits to trekking gear. That’s how we will call it a day. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive or Fly to Pokhara (822m)

It is time to leave Kathmandu for now, as we will get ready for Pokhara’s arrival. We will have two possible options, a Bus Drive of 6-7 hrs or a 30 minutes Flight. We will go for the one you choose. Eventually, we’ll end up in Pokhara, the beautiful town with a big lake and mountains vistas by. The rest of the day will be spent exploring Pokhara’s Lakeside and more. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 4: Drive to Nayapul & Trek to Ulleri (1960m) | 4hrs Trek

Now, we will set in the direction of Annapurna Base Camp as we leave Pokhara’s vibrant life. We will start with a drive to Nayapul, a one-hour drive. Nayapul is the starting point of our Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

We will join the riverbed of Modi River to reach Birethanti. There we will stop for a while before getting back on the trail. Walking through the banks of Bhurungdi Khola to Hille and Tikhedhunga’s steep stairs, we will reach Ulleri. We’ll end the day here in one of the teahouses.

Day 5: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,850m) | 5-6hrs

Following breakfast, we’ll ascend a climb that is dotted with Oak and Rhododendron trees. Along the day, several Gurung villages like Banthati and Nangthanti will pass by.

Pushing ourselves for a couple of more hours, we will finally step into Ghorepani Village. The village is one of the famous villages for homestays and cultural exposures in Nepal. Our evening in the village will become more magical by the spectacular mountains visible from there. Overnight in Ghorepani.

Day 6: Morning Hike to Poonhill & Trek to Tadapani (3201m) | 7hrs

We’ll wake up a little early today for an exciting morning hike to Poonhill. It will be a one-hour hike to the best viewpoint, Poonhill, to enjoy the mountain panorama and sunrise view. The striking sunrise view and mountain panorama will make us feel alive and blessed. Mt Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and more peaks will greet the beautiful sight. Keeping the views and moments deep into the head, we will trace back to Ghorepani for breakfast.

Following that, we will climb to Deurali before descending to Banthanti and ultimately to Tadapani. Overnight in the village.

Day 7: Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,170 m) | 5hrs

Today, we‘ll trek through the scenic trail to reach Chhomrong.  The trek will begin with a descent across a beautiful forested area and terraced fields. It will bring us to the banks of Kimrong Khola.

From the Khola, we’ll head towards Gurjung and Chule Village. The last section of the trek will mix up both uphills and straight walks. Completing all the walks, we’ll end up in Chhomrong for a beautiful night’s stay.

Day 8: Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan (2,600m) | 6hrs

We’ll start the day all excited with a descent to a river, Chhomrong Kola. Right after crossing the river through a suspension bridge, we’ll begin an uphill climb that takes us to Khuldi Ghar. On a clear day, we’ll see breathtaking mountains and hills.

Next, we do a steep walk over a steep stone staircase to reach the site full of green bamboo forest, Bamboo. The two hours of a gradual climb from there will bring us to Dobhan, the place to end the day’s trek. Overnight in Dobhan.

Day 9: Trek from Bamboo to Deurali (3,200m) | 5-6hrs

Most of today’s trek will be an uphill one. Firstly, we’ll gradually move towards Dovan. Then, our path will lead through a lush jungle and some villages to the Himalayas, a major stop at Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We’ll have a break and lunch in the Himalayas before joining the last stretch of the day. The two more hours of the climb will finally bring us to Deurali for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Trek from Deurali to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m)

From Deurali, we’ll now move towards Annapurna Sanctuary and Machhapuchhre Base Camp(MBC). This day will see us crossing 3500m+ altitudes so that we will trek slowly and calmly.

As we trek ahead, we’ll come across the glacier and rocky sides. Though it is a little tough to trek on, the place is quite rewarding. Moving past those areas safely, we’ll finally reach the base camp of Mt Machhapuchhre. From the stop, we will see various mountains and their mesmerizing panoramas. And with that view, it will be the end of the day in MBC.

Day 11: Trek from MBC to ABC (4,130m) & Trek to Bamboo (2,350m) | 7-8hrs

This will be the crucial and long day of the trek. We’ll start the day by leaving MBC behind through the enchanting landscapes. The walk of several hours will keep on bringing mountains closer.

Eventually, we’ll arrive in Annapurna Base Camp(4,130m) to see a great mountain display of several peaks, including Mt Annapurna. With the view, we’ll spend some hours at the base camp to explore the place thoroughly.
Later, we’ll start to descend back from the base camp to Bamboo. This descending part will be easy and fast as we’ll have downhills only. Several easy hours of trekking will bring us back to Bamboo for the night.

Day 12: Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1800m) | 3-4hrs

Now we leave Bamboo as well via an easy downhill trail. Losing the altitude gradually and enjoying the same view all again, we’ll descend to Jhinu Danda. There is a natural hot spring in Jhinu Danda, which will heal our exhausted bodies. Overnight in Jhinu Danda.

Day 13: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara | 2-3hrs Trek

We will leave behind the hot spring site as we approach Nayapul over an easy trail. We’ll have the Modi River and some villages along the day through our descent from Jhinu Danda. Upon reaching Nayapul, we’ll join an hour’s drive to Pokhara from Nayapul. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu | 5-6hrs drive

We’ll have a delicious breakfast in Pokhara before we leave the place for Kathmandu. Later, we’ll bid goodbye to Pokhara by joining a bus drive of 5-6 hours. It will be a fun drive as we reach Kathmandu through a winding and beautiful highway. Overnight in Kathmandu’s hotel.

We have just finished the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Sabbatical Explore Nepal. Our guide Shiva and Samir  were excellent, very friendly young men with good English. The looked after us very well, staying with us and supporting us as we trekked, and making sure our meals and accommodation were sorted each day. Shiva and Samir  were very knowledgeable about the mountains, the areas we visited and Nepal in general. It was lovely to share stories with them, and I’m sure they will make excellent guides as well.
